Changes to the cones and fans seem fine to me. I think that we do care
about the possibility of pickling faces, but it is not something
desperate. In my prior experience it was sometimes faster to recompute
faces than to store them, I have not tested it for the current toric
framework.
Generalizing your `key` argument for all `UniqueRepresentation`s sound
like a good idea to me!
