 I tried 2. first.  Not very exciting.

 I couldn't get anything out of it that I hadn't seen before.

 Again, knowing how to test whether libpari is working at all would be
 really helpful.  The files in local/lib/ certainly exist, at any rate, and
 they are the ones created when I ./sage -f'ed it just now.
