`2^16`. Looking at the gftables directory of my installation on my linux
computer, clearly there are less tables than field sizes. So, I guess that
the tables are only created when needed.
I was wrong: The gftables file contains files for ''all'' prime powers
greater than 1 and smaller than `2^16` that are not prime. So, that looks
as if it was made at compilation time.
