We had similar problems with (e.g.) `ptestlong` and (GAP?) orphans IIRC;
while `sage -tp ...` did terminate (''"All tests passed!"''), `tee` did
not because some file descriptor(s) were still open, so you didn't get the
shell prompt back.
Killing the orphans the shell prompt returned.
