I took jhpalmieri's original tarball, applied the patch from #11915
myself, built it with these settings:

SAGE_MATPLOTLIB_GUI=yes
SAGE_PARALLEL_SPKG_BUILD=yes
MAKE=make -j12
SAGE_SPKG_INSTALL_DOCS=yes
}}}
on Ubuntu 10.04. Everything built fine, and make ptestlong passed all
tests. Yeah!
