I wonder why comment [comment:8] speaks about MPFI. Also, upstream (MPFR)
we have seen several
problems with the {{{--enable-thread-safe}}} option which is now enabled
by default. Unless needed
for Sage, my advice would be to configure MPFR with {{{--disable-thread-
safe}}}.
