I've posted my current work in progress at #12544 - to make it work, I
either need the alternative patch here, or tweak `FreeModule` to recognize
`PointCollection` and treat it as tuple, or write things like
`span(tuple(cone.rays()))` in toric code, which mitigates the point of
`cone.rays()` returning an "almost tuple"...
