Current status:
#11874 needs to be fixed and reviewed. There is a failing doctest, but I
think the failing doctest may be resolved by using the sage.misc.fpickle
module (I'm not sure, though)
#12229 needs review (and possibly a fix for the git_links)
#11503 needs review (and looks like it is ready to go...)
