For LTO to ''fully'' work (or, better, be fully applicable), unfortunately
yes, since `-fuse-linker-plugin` requires either gold or GNU `ld` version
>= 2.21. B)
(But I've successfully built Sage with [just] `-flto` with exactly the
same `ld` version as well.)
