 I personally would say a loglog and semilog (defaulting to semilogy) would
 be good, with an option to switch the semilog to x or y.  I guess a list
 plot would be convenient too, though I agree with you that points() or
 line() in general should be used over list_plot.  They are more powerful
 (mostly) anyway.
