Mike, I think if you want to ask a question that may have a chance to
attract attention on numpy-discussion you should ask: Why do arange and
linspace return different dtype object on similar inputs of the same type?
You can then expand on the fact that arange which is completely coded in C
respect our request from array interface but linspace which call arange
and then do something in python with the result doesn't respect it.
