Some other comments:
* there seems to be some inconsistencies in the comments about the
progs/tests not checked, and in tests h1degphi built but not checked
* could you make the distinction between progs and tests clearer (to me!
sorry, I'm not really used to eclib and mwrank...): are progs really progs
for computations and tests only testing which have no real interest by
themselves?
* in the tests directory d2 is put in two targets
