Wed Feb 14, 2007 11:33 AM GMT
LONDON, Feb 14 (Reuters) - London Metal Exchange tin hit a fresh high and
aluminium gained on Wednesday as supply problems persisted after the previous
session's rally, analysts said. "The market is in a reasonably buoyant mood,"
analyst John Meyer at Numis Securities said.
Aluminium for delivery in three months <MAL3> was up $24 or 0.9 percent at
$2,838/2,843 a tonne by 1107 GMT. Tin <MSN3> hit a new high of $12,800,
supported after PT Koba Tin (MSCB.KL: Quote, Profile , Research) suspended
shipments from Indonesia on Monday. Tin was at $12,650/12,750 versus $12,550.
The Bolivian government spurred worries after taking control over Glencore's
12,000-tonne-a-year Vinto tin smelter. Glencore said it would fight against
nationalisation.[ID:nL14130070]
