Nickel ended at $46,500, up just $100, and well below the morning peak of
$48,305.
It remains supported by critically low inventories LME stocks fell by 84
tonnes to 4,374 tonnes and given cancelled warrants amount 1,602 tonnes, only
2,772 tonnes of nickel are available to the market, or less than one day of
global consumption.
Nickel set an all-time high at $50,150 earlier this week.
Tin ended $50 higher, stil within reach of its recent 25-year high of $14,600,
as inventories fell by 190 tonnes or 2.1 percent to 8,845 tonnes, the lowest
since
2005. Cancelled warrants fell 155 tonnes, taking the total back to a low 190 t
after the recent peak of 1.400 t.
