mempertimbangkan
penjualan beberapa asetnya untuk membayar utang akibat pengambilalihan
perusahaan
tambang aluminium di Kanada, Alcan Inc., senilai 38,1 miliar dolar AS.
Pimpinan eksekutif Rio Tinto, Tom Albanese, Minggu, mengakui pengambilalihan
itu
akan menekan level produksi Rio Tinto ke sekitar 60 persen. Namun dia
mengatakan
kelompok usaha ini akan bekerja "sangat keras untuk membawa kembali posisi
semula
secepat mungkin." katanya.
