NEWS ALERT - Lead rallies further on LME, rises 3.5 pct to $3,240/t

Lead prices continued to outperform on the upside on the LME on Thursday,
rising 3.5 percent, or $110 a tonne, to trade at $3,240.
The market has partially bucked the general trend of weakness in the base
metals sector this week, underpinned by decreasing warehouse inventories --
at two month lows -- and constructive charts.
Prices have held above the $3,000 a tonne level, and look set to re-test the
$3,500 all-time high set on July 20.
