Indonesia's Berlian 9-month net profit down 52 percent in absence of extra
gains

JAKARTA (Thomson Financial) - Indonesia's biggest shipping company, PT
Berlian Laju Tanker, said Wednesday its net profit for the first nine
months of the year dropped 52 percent in the absence of gains from asset
sales that boosted its earnings a year before.

The company booked net profit of 519.11 billion rupiah, against 1.08
trillion rupiah a year before.

A year ago Berlian posted 491.68 billion rupiah in gains from asset sales
compared to losses of 448.55 million rupiah this year.

Sales rose 22 percent to 2.68 trillion rupiah and operating profit grew 5.
4 percent to 741.06 billion rupiah.
