Bank Central Asia to Hold 1:2 Stock Split

StockWatch (Jakarta) - Shareholders of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) in the
company's EGM on Wednesday (28/11) approved the management's plan to hold a
stock split at ratio of 1:2 from IDR125 to IDR62.5 per share.
In the closing on Thursday (29/11), StockWatch data showed, the banking sector
stock was up IDR200 per share (2.88%) at IDR7,150 compaerd to IDR6,950 per
share in the previous day's closing.
"The stock split will not change or reduce the company's authorized capital,
placed and paid-up capital," the bank's corporate secretary Raymon Yunarto said
in a press release. He said that ass of October 2007, the bank had
12,327,505,000 of paid-up shares, while the stock split is meant to boost
liquidity of the company's shares.
StockWatch data showed, the average transaction volume of BBCA year-to-date was
9.174 million per day, while in the period of January 2-November 29, BBCA
already rose by 36.2% from IDR5,250 to IDR7,150 with highest price at IDR7,550
