December futures in the Dow Jones Industrial Average traded on Globex hit limit
down Friday, a further sign of extreme market stress.
At 1003 GMT, screens showed the DJIA contract at locked at 8224, a fall of
550 points. S&P futures remained locked at 855.2, a fall of 60 points.
