Oil near $82 as Fed eyes low lending rates to 2013
SINGAPORE (AP) -- Oil prices rose to near $82 a barrel Wednesday in Asia after
the U.S. central bank said it expects lending rates to stay low for the next
two years.
Benchmark oil for September delivery was up $2.64 to $81.94 a barrel at midday
Singapore time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Crude
fell $2.01 to settle at $79.30 on Tuesday.
In London, Brent crude was up $1.81 at $104.38 per barrel on the ICE Futures
exchange.
