China's Economy Growth Slowed Down
Growth in China, the world's second largest economy, slowed down
significantly, according to Conference Board research institute.
"Significant slowing economy today and the next few months," said Bart
van Ark, chief economist at the agency. But he said the economy will
experience a soft landing only.
Leading index for China rose 1% in June to 158.9 after rising 0.6% in
May, the Conference Board said on its website today. Indicators that
have slowed significantly in recent months, according to van Ark.
"Beyond six months, China's economy could face more problems because of
the credit remains at levels that may be stable," he said. Therefore, he
added, China should move on to the consumer economy and social
infrastructure to build more infrastructure than usual.
China's economy slowed after the government raised interest rates and
Statutory Reserves (GWM) and continue to reduce the property sector. The
move adds to worries about a global economic slowdown.
China's economic growth likely slowed to 9.2% in the third quarter from
9.5% in the second quarter, the China Securities Journal said today,
citing the State Information Center. The flow of funds from trade and
investment could sustain growth, but also complicate the central bank's
efforts to control money supply and inflation.
