I made a ticket, PAS-340, to add OVal to the codebase and start adding
its validation annotations around the code, but warrants some group
discussion first. No sense in adding it if no one else thinks it
useful.

You can read about it here,
  http://oval.sourceforge.net/
It would add 120KB to the download,

http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/pub/mirrors/maven2/net/sf/oval/net.sf.oval/0.8/

I could see it moving into sail-core at some point, but for now just in
the PLR. The Authoring environment could run validations on the
PasProject and its children recursively to validate a project. The
library has lots of validation constraints built in like "NotNull" or
"Length>n" but it also has a facility for writing up new constraints,
e.g. rim and bean using rim are in same pod. Even if we don't use the
validator, the constraint annotations would serve to document how to
use our fields and methods.

Any support for this? Any objections?
