Earlier today we discovered a problem running the webstart fix on OS X 10.5. I didn't have a 10.5 machine to test with, so I haven't yet resolved it. I ought to get one soon so we can look into this.
I think Tony has 10.5 installed so he will probably be running into this problem shortly. The basic problem appears to be that the location of the javaws.jar files has changed. The webstart fix simply extracts a strings.properties file out of the 1.4 javaws.jar and adds it to the 1.5 javaws.jar file. You can see details of the web start fix here: http://confluence.concord.org/display/CCTR/WebStart+OSX+Java+1.5+Fix And if you want to test your webstart for the fix you can follow the directions here: http://www.telscenter.org/confluence/display/PAS/JNLP+Test If someone with 10.5 wants to verify the there is still a problem with webstart please let us know. It is quite possible that Apple removed the old versions of the javaws.jar, and or renamed the 1.5 version. To work around the former case we will need to include the string.properties file in the webstart fix disk image.
