They have some software converters who allow to convert images from BMP to JPEG(JPG) ou GIF like Pixia than you can download for free like Pixia http://park18.wakwak.com/~pixia/ (help forum at http://graphicfree.proboards9.com/ ) or the GIMP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIMP http://www.gimp.org/ but it's a little more complex than Pixia, you can try to ask some tips on their mailing list http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gimpwin-users/
Also Imageshack http://www.imageshack.us allow to post some BMP pictures at the condition than they don't exceed 1024 kilo-bytes, they convert them instantly into PNG image format http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Png once it's on their site.
