Subject: My old dial up ISP closed, fix broken links!
To: alt.fan.sailor-moon

Hopefully some old timers that remember me still read this
newsgroup. ^_^

Earlier this month my old dial up ISP closed, full details here:
http://www.moonie.ca/autobahn/

For E-mail this is not a change for most people as I had been
using my moonie.ca E-mail as my public address for a long
time so I just set up an Easymail account under my
fansubs.ca domain name and about midnight on New
Years changed the forwarding to my new mailbox.
moonie.ca will remain the best place to E-mail me on
an ongoing basis, that way if I want I can change the
forwarding point on the back end without impacting any mail.

However a lot of anime sites have links to my old URLs,
although I consolidated everything into my own domain names
in early 2008 and put up forwarders some sites haven't been
maintained in longer than that. Right now I'm waiting to see
if the owners of the domain name will sell me URL forwarding
service so I can fix the broken links all over the web but it's a
bit iffy. Arrangements had eventually been made for the E-mail
addresses to be run by another local provider but member
web space is still up in the air. (They weren't willing to sell
the domain name.)

So if you or anyone you know has a site that links to anything
or includes any graphics files beginning with:

http://members.autobahn.mb.ca/~glenap/
or http://www.autobahn.mb.ca/~glenap/

You can find the correct re-director (or in a few cases legacy
graphics that weren't included in the new site) by substituting
that part of the URL with:

http://www.moonie.ca/autobahn/~glenap/

If you have an old tripod account or something like that which
you haven't logged into for 10 years now might be the time to
update it. ^_-

On the good side since I had to get everything off their server
(I'd been using the Autobahn web-mail) and I had enough
warning I re-installed Eudora to pull everything down and this
has made managing my E-mail _way_ easier than the webmail
was so I should be a bit more responsive from now on. (I had
stopped using Eudora when my 486 died during a lighting
storm, I'd been putting it off thinking I would send in the hard
drive for data recovery which never happened.)

Slowly I should slog through the E-mail that's built up over
the last few years and get back to anyone that hasn't changed
their E-mail address in the meanwhile.

Technically I've had fansub distribution reopened on a case
by case basis since 2008 but only those who contacted me
by AIM have been able to get a response so far.

Also I've noticed since I've changed my E-mail services to
be entirely from EasyDNS instead of EasyDNS forwarding
to Autobahn a lot of E-mail has been coming in more
consistently.

Gotta Book It!
