"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for
complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the
philosophy is kindness." -- Dalai Lama

"I was sitting in Billy's Downtown Diner one morning. While eating my
breakfast, I had been fretting over the rising cost of tuition and housing at
college. I kept dwlling on how it was affecting my mood, and how it was making
me unhappy. Then, it came to me: perhaps my plight should be the means for
someone else's happiness. I noticed a mother and daughter sitting across the
way from me. I went up to the waitress and asked for their check as well as my
own. I headed for the counter, and paid for their meal. I didn't bother to
stick around for any sort of reaction. I was so excited and had such a great
feeling that my legs were shaking. I would just like to think they were able to
enjoy the surprise." --KindFool

"[...] I now live a life wherein I love smiling (I mean REALLY love to
smile), so much so that my university students have nicknamed me 'the Queen of
happiness'; I love helping others and transferring positive vibes. For me, I
may not always have money, clothes or food to share with another person, but as
long as I'm alive, I'll ALWAYS have the will and ability to touch the heart and
soul of another, through my simple act of smiling. Which, in turn, will give
someone else every reason to smile :)" --MsSmiley
