Tamil New Year that has been dotting the Prasanthi Calendar for quite
some time was celebrated by the state on the 14th April this year, when
Bhagawan was away in Delhi – Shimla. Grabbing yet another opportunity to
celebrate in the Divine presence, a belated New Year celebration was held on
the 24th evening in the Divine Presence in Prasanthi Nilayam.

In a simple yet elegant presentation, a group of Balvikas children from
Chrompet Samithi, Chennai, presented a unique bouquet to their Beloved Bhagawan
singing to Carnatic excellence in front of a capacity audience on the twilight
reflecting the celebrating mood of the state.

Starting with a Ganesha Stuthi they went on singing Rama Nannu Bovara…
followed by Sita Pathe Na Manasu na, a Carnatic Jugalbandhi between mridangam
and ghatam. It was interesting to note that towards the end of this the boy at
ghatam began throwing the instrument up in the air to retrieve it while
producing the typical metallic ringing sound. Bhagawan was in full smiles,
seemed to be appreciating the dedicated concentrated effort of the young lad.
One more song followed, Jagadananda Karaka to follow with a violin solo at His
special instance, before concluding with a bhajan “Easwaramba Priya Nandana…”.
This was followed by a short stint of bhajans by the students.
Immensely pleased, half way through the programme, Bhagawan called the
young lads onstage presenting them with safari pieces. Upon conclusion of the
programme and accepting Arathi, Bhagawan called these lads yet again blessing
all of them by placing His blessing hand on them.
