Once, an Alumni of the Sri Sathya Sai University appeared for an
interview. One of the interviewers asked him an out of way question. He told
him that he had heard of Swami giving chains, rings and bracelets. He asked him
if this boy had received any gifts from Swami. The boy who apparently had not
received any material gifts from Swami quickly replied that he hailed from a
backward village. Education would have remained a dream for him. But the
confidence and competence that makes him face the interview board and reply to
their questions, is the greatest gift that he had received from Swami.
