Dear Travel Partner, SUB: Increased Service Tax on Economy Class Tickets for journey originating ex-India Please note, as per directives from the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) the service tax on the Economy class (Fare + PSF+UDF+any other charges) has been revised to INR 775/- (INR 750 plus 3 % surcharge) or 10. 3% whichever is less. This has to be collected under the tax code JN in all the tickets for travel originating in India, issued effective 16th March 2011 for travel on or after 1st April 2011. The above tax is also applicable for excess baggage tickets effective 01st April 2011. Please advise to all concerned accordingly. kindly disseminate to all concerned.
