HYDERABAD: Sachin Tendulkar has reportedly put on hold his plans to lead Mumbai
Indians against Deccan Chargers in the ongoing IPL-4 on Sunday, which also
happens to be his birthday, in view of deteriorating health condition of Sri
Satya Saibaba of Puttaparthi.
According to highly placed sources in the Hyderabad Cricket Association, Sachin
who is anxiously following the condition of Baba is yet to decide whether or
not to play the match to be held here.
Being an ardent follower of Baba, Sachin never missed an opportunity to visit
Prashanti Nilayam whenever he was free. Recently, Hyderabadi cricketer V.V.S.
Laxman and he sought the blessings of Saibaba, just before the World Cup.
That Sachin realised his dream of being a member of the World Cup winning squad
is now history.
Interestingly, the HCA official reveals that the Intelligence Department has
also been sounded on the possibility of Sachin pulling out of the match.
“One thing which is certain for now is that Sachin will not have any birthday
bash, given the critical condition of Baba,” says the official. Sachin was
earlier said to have planned a party with his teammates on April 23 in the
hotel before joining his family and close friends at dinner the next day.
