All Things In Creation Are Subject To The Law of Change And Man Too Is Subject To This Law When we read or hear this message, we may tend to draw back in alarm. Most of us crave security and resist any change that threatens it. We feel safe and confident when we are faced with a task that we know we can accomplish, since we have succeeded in doing so many times in the past. But, when faced with a situation where we have no prior experience, we shy away from attempting it for fear of failure. We prefer, the known and fear the unknown. But, as Baba states so clearly, everything in the world is subject to change, including us. So, we will be forced to accept it and rely on our own God-force to help us to adjust to changes. As we grow older, our lifestyle, of necessity, changes, due to the normal slowing down of our functions, leading eventually to the final change of death into a different dimension. It is particularly difficult to learn to adjust to the innumerable changes that have been taking place in the whole world in recent years. If we refuse to accept them and try to resist them, we will discover with a shock that we are being left behind. The older we are, the more attached we are likely to have become to the old way or the "good old days". We frequently yearn to turn back the clock to that familiar world that is no longer with us. But if we try with our own will to break our rigid habits and learn new ones, we will most certainly fail. The only way we can possibly accept and adjust to the many changes that are demanded of us is to rely on the inner-Baba to guide us. I have found that when I remember to turn my attention from the outer world with all its demands for change, the only way I can learn new habits is to turn within and ask to be shown how to let go of the old ways that are no longer practical, and accept new ones. The old saying "you cannot teach an old dog new tricks", applies only when we try on our own to learn new methods. But it is definitely possible when we ask within for help.
