They also like cheese very much. The more you consume cheese, the weaker you become. You should not also take milk in excess quantity. Too much milk is very bad. It should be in limit. The milk should be diluted with water in equal proportion. Same is the case with curd. It should not be thick. It should be semi-solid. Thus, you have to control the food you eat daily. Proper food at proper time is very much necessary for contemplating on God. If you thus take proper food and observe discipline in your habits, you are sure to have God’s darshan at that very moment. You need not have to ndertake rigorous sadhana for months and years. You can always be blissful. Bliss is the form of God. RAGI – The Divine Food RAGI is His favorite food and He has talked about it in the context of good health again and again. We present to you here a simple and practical way of partaking on the Divine food. Proportions in therecipe may be adjusted depending on the preferences. We recommend all family members to enjoy this food (or drink) daily. It is good enough to start off with twice or thrice a week, if not daily. Please also review the article on RAGI in last year’s Birthday issue (November 23, 2010 issue). Please take note that Ragi should not be put on direct heat. Preparation of Ragi Malt • Boil 1-2 cups of water. • In a bowl, take out ½ cup Ragi powder (Ragi flour). • To the Ragi powder, start adding boiling water while mixing with spoon. Continue adding water and mixing until a flowing paste is ready. Add no more water. • In parallel, you should have 3-4 cups of milk on the stove. • As soon as milk is boiled, remove from the heat and immediately start adding the paste slowly into it while mixing vigorously. • Add a sweetener (such as raw honey, raw sugar, or jaggery powder). Try 1 teaspoon of sweetener for every cup of milk used. Each sweetener has its own flavor so rotate between them. • Serve hot, warm, or cooled. (The quantity is good for a family of four.)
