One afternoon The Late Sri N.Kasturi and Sri Indulal Shah were doing Pada Seva of Bhagawan in a room on the first floor of Prasanthi Mandir. They noticed Bhagawan was drawing a sketch on a piece of paper. After some time, He handed over that piece of paper to Sri Kasturi. To their surprise, they saw the symbols of five religions drawn in a circle while in the center there was the back portion of Bhagawan's own head mostly depicting its matchless hair.
Sri Kasturi asked, "Swami, why the back of the face and not the front?" Baba explained, "So that you may not keep the paper in the safe and do nothing about it!" Bhagawan then clarified the point. "This will be the symbol of the Sai Organisation-five religions in the circle with the symbol of Prashanti viz, the Lotus in the centre." This was the birth of the Sarva Dharma symbol, which we all adore in every Bhajan Center, display at every function and exhibit whenever we intend to carry the Sai message.
