Bhagawan uses the metaphor of a bud blossoming into a flower, to explain the
concept of right timing in his engagement with man.

One day Bhagawan called a senior student and showed him a couple of letters
written by the students. He said that the students were feeling jealous because
He was talking and bestowing attention on one particular student. He added that
the boys need to realize that there are 650 boys in the hostel, and it is
physically impossible to speak to each and every one. He then added, “None of
you understand. Everything is time, everything is time. This boy was in the
school and studied from the first standard to the twelfth. I am only speaking
to him now. Why did I not speak to him all these years? Because it is a
question of time. Understand that for the bud to become a flower takes time.
One can neither hasten it nor slow it down. It will take its prescribed time to
flower. In the same way tell the boys, tell everybody, that everything is time,
and when their time will come, Swami will speak to them.”
