There is no sorrow in man. He is Anandaswarupa, the embodiment of divine bliss. In spite of that, if he suffers from sorrow, it is because of his own evil traits. Sorrow has not suddenly descended on him from somewhere. The sorrow is the reaction, reflection, and resound of the evil qualities in him. If someone is ridiculing you, take it that it is not the other person but your own evil feelings being returned to you in the shape of ridicule. - Taken from Swami's 2003 Maha Shivarathri Discourse.
