Sunday, September 2nd, 2012

On the auspicious occasion of the 40th anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Central
Trust, a newly installed Video Projection System has been dedicated at
Bhagawan’s Divine Lotus Feet in a function held this morning here in Prasanthi
Nilayam.

This unique system, termed as a Day Light Projection System, could be used
efficiently during daytime with highest clarity. The Projectors have a highest
lumens of 17500, highest for any projector in the private viewing space and
uses WXGA technology, 3 chip DLPT, with 4 Zeon Firing Lamps.

These Projectors installed are direct from the assembly line in Japan, part of
the first commercial batch that are not yet made available for sale. The
projector screens, motorised lift units, computer hardware and software etc.,
are tailor-made to Prasanthi Nilayam’s requirements, all achieved in a record
one month period.

Trust Members, Secretary of the Trust along with distinguished guests offered
the Video Projection System at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet. Subsequently, even as
Bhajans continued, video featuring Bhagawan was screened through the Projector
for the benefit of assembly of devotees.

Grateful Heartbeats at Mother Sai’s Lotus Feet…
Sunday, September 2nd, 2012

Prasanthi Nilayam’s blessed darshan ground that had woven innumerable tales of
Bond Of Love between Bhagawan and His students witnessed an absorbing session
of recollections, of some of those golden memoirs, when over 150 members of
‘Sai Sannidhi’ gathered in the Sai Kulwant Hall offering gratitude to their
Beloved Swami, this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The programme was organised by ‘Sai Sannidhi’ – the forum of alumni who are
employed in various institutions under Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Today is
incidentally the 40th anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.

Delivering an introductory speech, Sri Sanjay Sahani, Director, SSSIHL,
Brindavan Campus spoke about what Swami means to His students and what
difference Bhagawan has made in the lives of His students. Highlighting the
great good fortune of being His students, an unparalleled celestial boon, Sri
Sahani narrated a couple interesting anecdotes from the lives of some of the
students stressing upon the ‘Bond Of Love’ that transgresses time.
The programme was interwoven with songs and recollections as some of the
selected students narrated interesting facets of the unique Bond Of Love
between Swami and His ‘properties.’

While Pravin Vemula, working at SSSIHMS, Whitefield narrated his own story, of
him being picked up by Bhagawan to go over to the US to get trained in Hospital
Administration, which by His sheer grace and Sankalpa he could complete exactly
in an year as foretold by Bhagawan, Hari Shankar Bhat, working with Sri Sathya
Sai Central Trust revisited the blessed day in 1996, when he was fortunate to
witness one of the most astounding tale of Motherly Love of Bhagawan that
ignited the spark in him to join the band of students. Shyam Sharma, formerly
Band Leader at SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam recounted the intense spark the child
in him had during his primary school days that left no stone unturned to grab
an opportunity to be closer to Bhagawan.

Dr. Ravikumar, Warden, Brindavan Campus delivering an interesting and emotional
speech, sharing glimpses of His Touch of Divine Love, highlighted, quoting
Bhagawan, that everyone comes to Swami at the most appropriate time in his or
her life.

Beautiful Songs, Tere Sangham Rahne Ki Hum Kushi Manathey Hey…, I Keep Feeling
Your Love in me over and over again…, Maa Praana Daivam… were sung in unison,
with over 150 hearts joining together beating for Beloved Swami.

The session ended with an electrifying Divine Discourse, wherein Bhagawan urged
His students to engage in service, practising Love All Serve All, practising
love and reverence to parents.
Bhajans continued and ended with Bhagawan singing Govinda Krishna Jai…Gopala
Krishna Jai…

Mangala Arathi was offered at 1830 hrs.

My Sankalpa Is All-Powerful!
Monday, September 3rd, 2012

The Bond Of Love between Bhagawan and His ‘students’ is the sweetest and most
incomprehensible. What the ‘vanaras’ of the Treta and ‘gopis’ of the Dwapara
were privileged, in the Kali age when God descended as Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai,
it is undoubtedly His band of ‘students’ who are the most privileged, to whom
He has given Himself, guiding and nurturing them, to become the torch-bearers
of His mission…and it is an unending saga of love, that is still on…What is
that unfathomable Bond and how much Bhagawan expects from His band of students?
Embodiments of Love – Students!
Our students have a pure and sacred heart. They are untouched by pride or
selfishness. They are absolutely blemishless.

Exemplary Selflessness and Diligence of Swami’s Students
They may at times commit mistakes but they themselves rectify them. Hence, our
students are, in fact, our Central Trust. It is they who are handling the
entire work of the Central Trust. Elders are there only to give them guidance
and advice, but the actual work is being done by the students. Hence, none can
underestimate their capabilities simply because they are young in age. I am
standing here only to speak about the selfless work being done by our students,
otherwise I had no intention of giving a Discourse. Our students are doing
extremely wonderful work and setting everything right. You cannot say they are
ordinary students; they are destined to be the main support of the Central
Trust in future. The Central Trust is mainly dependant on the students. They
are working day and night. One cannot specifically say so and so is working
hard; all are equally hard working. Nobody can describe the strength and
capabilities of these students.
Students!
It is My earnest desire that you should lead the Central Trust, follow the
right path and set an ideal to the entire world. The future of the Trust rests
on you. Whatever good or bad happens will be the result of your conduct. Hence,
the Trust can progress only due to your ideal conduct. It is not money that is
important. You should give importance to good work. Wherever you see in the
outside world today, you find people craving for money and more money! Money
comes and goes, morality comes and grows. You can make progress in life only
when you adhere to morality. Hence, make all efforts to cultivate morality.
Having been born as a human being, it is but natural for you to have many
desires and longings. But these are not permanent; they are merely passing
clouds. Do not be carried away by them. You should brush them aside and hold
your character high.
Develop Love and Truth
Students!
Your work and conduct should set a shining example for others. The ideals set
by you will be the source of sustenance for the entire world. Today there is a
great advancement in the field of science and technology. But all this is, in
fact, “trick-nology”, and not true technology. The feelings that come from your
heart are true and eternal. Develop the power of discrimination to know what is
true and what is false. Keep aside what is not necessary. Follow that which is
true and eternal. The entire work of the Central Trust is your responsibility.
Devote your entire time to this sacred task. Make proper use of your time and
earn a good name. Not only the work of the Central Trust, but that of its
sister trusts also depends upon your conduct.
Do not depend on anybody. Depend only on your Atma Shakti (power of Self).
Develop self-confidence. Once you have self-confidence, you will attain
everything. True faith will take root in your heart when you develop
self-confidence. Then only will you attain true power. This will strengthen
love in you. Love is God. It is love which bestows all types of powers on you.
Faith strengthens love. Without faith, one cannot have love. Any task, be it
small or big, can be performed only through love. Your faith is the basis of
your love. But people today have become verily blind having lost both their
eyes of faith. Truth is God. Love is God. Live in Love. Therefore, develop both
love and truth. When you have love and truth, you can achieve everything in
this world. In fact, these are like My two feet. I achieve everything with
these two.
Aspire for Guna (virtue), not Dhana (money)
Some time ago, I provided drinking water to the people of Chennai. The problem
of water in Chennai had been persisting since the time of the Britishers, who
ruled over India. They promised to provide water to Chennai but did not fulfil
their promise. Seeing the difficulties faced by the people, I provided water to
Chennai. To overcome the scarcity of water in Chennai, we made arrangements to
facilitate the flow of water from Krishna river to Chennai. Now every hut in
Chennai has access to drinking water. Even the children are jumping with joy,
saying, “Sai Baba has provided the ambrosia of water to us.” In this way, I
made everybody happy in Chennai. You all know very well that huge amount of
money is required for such stupendous projects. But I did not ask anybody to
give even a naya paisa. My Sankalpa (Will) is all-powerful. We have no craving
for money. We are interested in Guna (virtues) and not Dhana (money). You may
not believe but I have to tell this to you that I am spending crores of rupees
every month. This fact is very well known to Chakravarthi because he is the one
through whom the payments are being made. Someone has to be there to do this
work. Swami Himself can do everything but still some help is needed. That is
why we have established the Central Trust and entrusted the responsibility of
its functioning to its members.
You can attain anything if only you have love. There is no wealth greater than
love. Hence, develop love. You don’t need to ask anybody for anything. Love
will supply everything to you and you will lack nothing. Develop love through
right means. Do not follow the wrong path. Do not resort to falsehood or
injustice. Do not give up forbearance because forbearance is most important.
Unfortunately, there is a lack of unity among the Bharatiyas today. You may
have everything, but if you have no unity, you cannot have purity. One who
lacks purity cannot attain divinity. For divinity, purity is essential. All
your desires and aspirations will be fulfilled if you have purity and divinity.
Saha Navavatu, Saha Nau Bhunaktu, Saha Veeryam Karavavahai,
Tejaswi Navadhitamastu,
Ma Vidvishavahai.
(Oh Lord! Protect and nourish us both (preceptor and disciple) together. We may
attain energy and effulgence from our study together. We may not hate each
other.)
Students! My mind is always focused on you only. In fact, I can’t exist without
you. I am here because of you; you are here because of Me. You and I are one.
We are not separate from each other. Never feel disappointed thinking, “Swami
is not talking to me.” Be happy and do your work with dedication.

Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini Reaching New Milestone…
Thursday, August 30th, 2012

Bhagawan’s pet project announced during the 85th Birthday celebrations, Sri
Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini, that aims at integrating values in an innovative way
into the school curriculum, got a big fillip last week as its newly developed
comprehensive web application was offered at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet on August
25, 2012 in Prasanthi Nilayam.

In a function organized at the Double Decker Auditorium, adjacent to the Book
Trust Building, the CEO & Managing Director, TCS Ltd., Sri N Chandrasekharan
handed over the project to Sri K Chakravarthi, IAS, formerly Secretary and
serving Trustee with Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Chandrasekharan called it a ‘great blessing’,
recalling the day when the Chief of the Tata empire Sri Ratan Tata had asked
him to look into the possibilities of the project. Reassuring TCS’s continuous
support to the Vidya Vahini project, Sri Chandrasekharan reminded his team of
the crucial task ahead to ensure feasibility factor of the web application,
ensuring convenient easy handling of the same even in the remotest part of the
country, helping teachers who are not adept in using such technology.

How to use technology to teach changeless values, asked Sri Chakravarthi
speaking on the occasion deliberating on the project. Values are taught and
caught; teachers are to teach and it is the duty of the student to catch the
teachings in the right spirit. Echoing Sri Chandrasekharan’s views about the
daunting task ahead in ensuring feasibility of the project, Sri Chakravarthi
also stressed on the importance of ensuring comfortability of the last person
at the remotest part of the country.

Paying gratitude to Team TCS, Sri Chandrasekharan, Dr Santosh Mohanty, Global
Head, Business Intelligence at TCS and couple of others were felicitated by Sri
Chakravarthi on behalf of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Active members from
Team Vidya Vahini were also felicitated on the occasion.

Giving a ringside view of the entire project, Dr Mohanty called the project a
continuous journey, where many milestones have been achieved and many more
milestones are going to come in future; we are moving in the right direction,
concluded Dr Mohanty, thanking Team Vidya Vahini and his own team mates for
their dedicated support.

Ms Vishnupriya Sharma who rallied together the entire team on the project
front, meeting timely requirement from Team TCS, spoke next, giving a glimpse
of passion the team has imbibed for the project. Beginning with a mention of
the tips received from Bhagawan, as to how to go ahead as a united team, Ms
Vishnupriya listed out various steps and levels of efforts taken in various
areas, especially in introducing and adapting technology in various schools in
a planned and systematic way.

Next to come was a guided tour demo of the project, done effectively by Sri
Hariharan from Team Vidya Vahini.
Earlier, the programme commenced with an introductory speech by Sri Satyajith,
the Project in-charge from Prasanthi Nilayam. Welcoming the dignitaries, senior
officials and all assembled during the occasion, Sri Satyajith briefed the
evolution of the project from the time of its inception, as willed and blessed
by Bhagawan. How Bhagawan, the Prime Force behind the project, instilled the
much needed confidence in him during the days of inception, with His most
simplistic practical approach was also lucidly narrated by Sri Satyajith.

Cultural Programmes:
If Vidya Vahini is Bhagawan’s solution to the present times in the field of
education, marred with erosion in values, the world can breathe a sigh of
relief as the expanse of Vidya Vahini is ever expanding bringing in steady
progress in the field, as was previsioned by Bhagawan.
On the 25th August evening, marking the occasion of the dedication of the newly
developed Web Application by the Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., three schools,
under the Vidya Vahini scheme staged an hour-long cultural presentation, of
twenty minutes apiece, at the Sanctum Sanctorum in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The first presentation was by the students from Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar,
Visakhapatanam, which is in its 27th year of inception. The presentation
exposes the flaws of modern day educational system, that is more quantitative
than qualitative, that puts ‘quantitative’ pressure on the students to excel
than instilling passion in them. Perfection comes with passion and not with
pressure, declares the presentation depicting the story of girl by name Amrita,
who was under severe pressure from her father for not scoring a near perfect
10, despite here excellent performance. The presentation ended with a wise and
learned teacher, attending to the hapless girl, airing greater hopes bringing
in Vidya Vahini as today’s answer to devalued modern educational system.

Next to come was ‘Kolattam’, a folk-dance form from Andhra Pradesh offered by
the student of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Vidyalayam, Nandigama, Krishna District,
Andhra Pradesh. Dancing vibrantly to the tunes of a couple of popular Telugu
devotionals, these students, in typical attire, with headband and anklets,
enthralled the audience with their quick, quirky, rhythmic, synchronised
movements graced with great team spirit.

The third and final presentation was a scintillating musical offering by a
group of girl students from Sri Viswa Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary
School, Vandalur, Tamil Nadu. Presenting rich talent, singing paeans to
Bhagawan, this bunch of students incited round of applause from the audience,
in appreciation of their graceful musical display.
