'SATHYA SAI WITH STUDENTS' BLOG UPDATE - WEEK 6
Sai Ram,
The 'Sathya Sai with Students' Blog Team presents before you the new set of
articles for Week 6:

1. As the winter holidays have commenced at the Sri Sathya Sai Educational
Institutions, we recollect Bhagavan's guidelines to students given in the
earlier years on how they should 'Be Exemplary Students' when they go home.

2. Sri G. Srinivas Srirangarajan's article on Bhagavan's Greatest Miracle

3. Conversations with Bhagavan in the Prasanthi Nilayam portico on November 27,
1991, when he tells students to go home for vacation.

4. As we have just completed the 13th Annual Grama Seva Programme, Bhagavan
gives His Message on the 'Spiritual Facets of Integrated Rural Development'.
This is very relevant to corporate organisations working towards Social
Responsibility projects.

5. On this Vijaya Dashami Day in 1988, Bhagavan resurrected Brigadier Bose in
the Poorna Chandra Auditorium. We reminisce this day in that age.

Do Not Waste My Time!?!
Thursday, October 25th, 2012

Having been blessed with the golden opportunity to be in closer proximity of
Bhagawan, how many of us are able to justify, sincerely attempting to make Him
‘happy’ by following His teachings? How every single action is scrutinized by
His omnipresent vision and how one can become worthy of His eternal presence by
following Him…a beautiful incident from Sri Gopal Krishna Yachendra of the
Venkatagiri Royal family.

One day I had spoken harshly to my father. I didn’t do anything apart from
talking rather harshly, as if we were fighting. That happened in Venkatagiri.
Later I went to Puttaparthi. There in Puttaparthi I used to sleep by Baba’s
side. In fact all of us usually slept by His side – myself, my brother, and so
on. But on this particular occasion I was there along with Him. We were taking
rest, and I was silent. Swami said to me: ‘Gopal Krishna, why should you come
here? You are wasting My time and your time. Hereafter, don’t come here.’
‘Swami,’ I said, ‘what have I done? If there is anything I have done, please
excuse me!’ And I began weeping. He said: ‘When you can’t respect your father,
and when you talk to him so harshly (as you did that particular day in
Venkatagiri), there arises the question of your coming and wasting My time and
yours. If you do such things, don’t come here. The most important people for
you are your father and mother; they are the people who have given you this
body. Yes, they are the people who matter for you. Be careful! If these things
happen again you will be prohibited from visiting Me. This is the final
warning!’
This incident happened about four or five months after the harsh words with my
father in Venkatagiri. I had almost forgotten about it and never thought of it,
but it was a fact. Baba used the exact wording I had used to my father. He
described the room, the day, the very minute – everything. And what more do I
want than that for proof that Sai Baba is God omnipresent?

Enlightening Speechs and Carnatic Violin…

The concluding session of Prasanthi Vidwaan Mahasabha 2012 was marked with
three illuminating speeches by the young scholars, faculties and students,
followed by a scintillating musical offering by renowned violin duo Ganesh –
Kumaresh at the Sai Kulwant hall in Prasanthi Nilayam.
Speaking first, Dr Deepak Anand, Asst. Professor with Dept. of Management
Studies, Prasanthi Nilayam Campus, spoke on the subject ‘Fleeting Moments’
listing out various question man has to face in his way forward towards his
goal in life. Speaking with authority and clarity, Dr Deepak Anand enlightened
the audience entwining his speech with apt anecdotes, illustrating every point,
from his own student day experiences with Bhagawan.
Sri Abhay Kini, MBA student from Prasanthi Nilayam campus speaking next
elucidated on the subject ‘Surrender.’ Kini’s structured speech began with a
reference to the Poornahuthi that signifies surrender. Elucidating further with
apt anecdotes from rich experiences of veteran devotees, the young scholar
ended his speech with a reference to the importance of offering all vices in
the sacrificial fire. It is only through love one can reach Atma Nivedanam,
Self Surrender; Self Surrender alone grants true peace, said the speaker
concluding his speech.

Giving a befitting finale to the week-long talk sessions as part of the
‘ensemble of the learned’, Ms AV Aishwarya from the Anantapur Campus spoke on
giving certain practical tips in man’s evolutionary spiritual journey.
Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed. Exhorting the audience of the essence of
Upanishads, Bhagawn lucidly narrated the events that led to the Divine
Celestial Marriage of Lord Rama and Mother Sita.
Marking the grand-finale, renowned violin duo Ganesh – Kumaresh presented a
soul-filling Carnatic Violin duet session enlightening the beautiful twilight,
enthralling the audience with sheer talent and devotion for over 45 minutes.

Mixing violin with vocal rendition, to the accompaniment of Tabla and
Mridangam, the duo mesmerised the audience with some scintillating tunes,
namely, Sree Ganesha Sivunikumara…, Rama Rama Rama Sai…, Madhava Keshava
Madhava…. Stringing together the popular number Rama Kodanda Rama…with the
famous Lord Ayyappa Song sung in the Sabarimala shrine, Harivarasanam
Vishwamohanam, the duo ended their offering on a high note. The duo had the
rare distinction of being child prodigies, having begun their violin
exploration as early as at the age of 3.
Even as bhajans continued artistes were felicitated and prasadam was
distributed. Mangala Arathi was offered at 1920 hrs. marking grand culmination
of Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha 2012.
Youth from the United Kingdom will offer a musical presentation tomorrow
evening.

Pranamami Sri Durge…
Wednesday, October 24th, 2012

Vijaya Dasami, the final day of Navaratri celebrations, denotes victory over
evil. When curtain rings down on the Dasara celebrations, it is time to
reminisce the beauty and grandeur of the festival of timeless appeal, invoking
Him beseeching His supreme benevolence, for His Divine Darshan… a poetic piece
from Sri Jullie Chaudhuri.
Oh! Divine Mother Goddess,
We seek Thy Everlasting Compassion,
We implore Thee…do us perennially bless,
Indeed delight us with Thy Sublime Mercy,
Thy Wondrous Grace,
It is Thy Effulgence alone that sets the Universe ablaze…
Oh! Supremely effulgent Mother,
Our hearts overflow with great love,
For Thee, Who is also referred to as Mahishasura Mardhini,
The slayer of the mighty demon – Mahishasura,
Indeed Your Form took shape,
Crystallised Itself out,
Beyond doubt,
>From the most blazing and vivid combined radiance,
That did emit from the beings of all the Gods,
While enveloping Thy Essence -
As Mother Parvati,
Touching Thy Presence,
At sage Katyayan’s hermitage…
That hitherto unknown luster and luminosity,
Truly beyond anyone’s gauge,
Thus acquired the name ‘Katyayani’,
Going on to assume the contour,
The fiery brilliance of Maa Durga…as per Divine Decree…
Oh! Mother, the glowing beauty,
Of Thy lotus-like face,
Is indeed beyond description,
Sages reflect upon Thee with absolute absorption,
Your Presence is the sole cause for celebration,
You…are the resting place for Infinity,
It is Thy Lila, Thy play,
That, from the synthesized energy of all the gods,
Including the Trinity,
Thy Magnificent Splendour,
Did emerge as the resplendent Durga Devi,
So empowered by weapons from each of the Gods,
Gave the demons a battle they just couldn’t afford…
Hey Pinakdharini,
You are the One who holds the Trishul of Lord Shiva,
Lord Vishnu presented You,
With a Disc that represented the Sudarshan Chakra,
Hey Bhavani, You are indeed the Harmonious Abode of the Universe,
You…are the Mother of the Cosmos,
As well as the Mother,
That each one of us does personally hold close and adore…
You are known as Shiv Ramana,
You are indeed the Manamohini of Shiva,
Who delightfully enchants and resides in the heart of Mahadeva…
The captivatingly exclusive Shakti of Manohara…
Hey Simhavahini, Sarvaasuravinashini,
Riding astride a lion,
You came to destroy all the demons,
And especially so…to end the reign of ‘tsunami like’ terror,
Of the ‘buffalo demon’ Mahisha-asura,
Who thought himself to be immortal,
Conceitedly assuming he was now invincible,
For none could ever point an error,
In the boon granted by Lord Brahma…
“Roar with delight while you still can,
O illiterate demon,
Because when I will kill you,
The gods themselves will roar with delight”…
With these very words,
Hey! Ameya Vikrama – One Who is Immeasurable…
…possessing Valour Supreme,
With the form of Eternal Bliss…Magnificence and Unsurpassable Beauty,
Sathyanandaswarupini…Bhavya…Bhavini…
Vanquishing the demon king…
You ultimately gained joyful victory…
Hey Bhavani…giver of life,
We entreat Thee…
Gently end all inner conflicts…struggle and strife,
Annihilate the asuras within,
That raise their tamasic demonic heads,
Goading us towards marshy quick sands,
And the dark unyielding clutches,
Of the mire of sin…
Without Thy support, we confess,
We will remain helpless,
This battle we simply cannot win…
Come, Oh! Consort of Maheshvara…Oh! Maheshvari…
…The invincible Vaishnavi,
Oh! Most Benevolent Benefactress of the Cosmos,
Jagat Janani,
Come and set us free…
Help us cross the ocean of inner and outer chaos,
Come, we beseech Thee,
Show us how to overthrow -
Lust, greed, excessive attachments, arrogance and ego,
Grievance, vengeance, imbalances of trivial preference,
The blunders of reckless ignorance,
Pomp and show,
Extreme indulgences and foolish pretense…
As did Mahishasur…these negative traits too,
In the hope of misleading,
Keep changing their appearance,
Proving to be a quagmire…a deterrent, a hindrance,
Leading to a life enveloped in nescience…
Completely isolated and segregated from substance…
Oh! Mother Divine…You are Adya – the beginning of Reality,
You are the Eternal One – Nitya,
Oh! Supreme Bestower of Wisdom – Buddhida,
You are generously benevolent – Bahulaprema,
Outer power and control makes us inflexibly feel –
‘I am the Lord of all I survey…’
Sweeping the intellect remorselessly away…
At Thy Lotus Feet we place,
Adorations in a fragrant array,
Our sincere wish we do convey,
Embrace us in Thy shimmering light…our fears forcibly allay…
Oh! Mother Durge…let there not be even the slightest of delay,
Illumine our intellect,
In all humility and reverence we pray,
Even as we, with great love do collectively say,
Naman, Namami, Namostute…
Pranamami Sri Durge…Sri Durge…Sri Durge…
Achintya Rupa Charite Sarva Shatru Vinaashini
Rupam Dehi Jayam Dehi Yasho Dehi Dvisho Jahi
Oh! Mother…
You, Who possesses an unimaginably Beautiful Form and Energy,
Destroyer of all obstacles,
Grant us Your Form, Grant us Victory,
Grant us Welfare, remove all Hostility…
Oh! Durge Devi…Durge Devi…Durge Devi…
Hey! Sai Narayani…
Come…
We desire naught else but Thy proximity,
We seek naught else but Thee…
Oh! Granter of Auspiciousness – Shubha Pradayini,
Grant us That which is most auspicious,
Grant us Thee…
