" Be equal-minded in cold or heat, profit or loss, praise or censure, that is
equanimity. The person whose mind remains in perfect equanimity will always be
in a state of bliss, but to attain that state needs a great deal of spiritual
practice, and you have to earn the grace of the Lord. To earn His grace, one
has to develop equal-mindedness, and practice the virtues that are pleasing to
Him. To attain an unchanging and unwavering state is the goal of the spiritual
aspirant ".
