AUM SRI SAI RAM ‘This Avatar has come to show us simple things, like a mother teaches a child, which deludes her. He has come to show us the Glory and Magnificence of God. He has come to guide us to the path that leads back to Him, a path that humanity has lost.’ Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Few years ago, I started to follow the Guru Course dispensed by the Sri Sathya Sai Organization (Mauritius) to be trained as a teacher for the Balvikas (young children) classes. I was drawn in priority by my love for children. My aim was to be with them and shower them with heartfelt understanding, guidance and motherly love, not to forget the hug and the physical, human touch which is very often lacking in the teacher/pupil relationship. Sincere with myself, I knew I had very little of the archetype teacher but this was the only avenue open to me to reach these adorable angels. Soon after, Swami visited me in the dream state and gifted me with a most extraordinary lesson in motherly love. In the dream somebody is talking in praise of Swami’s teachings; he adds that Swami is a great teacher. I am listening in silence. There are others with me. Swami, in an orange robe, is present too. He is standing and observing us attentively. Soon after, big bunches of litchis are distributed to us. The fruit are ripe, red and mouth-watering. They are being picked from one tree only, though there are many litchi trees around. I turn my head slightly to the right and I see big bunches of litchis hanging from another tree but the skin are brown and broken; the fruit are decaying. I also notice that there are no leaves on the trees and interestingly, the tree trunks and all the branches, big and small, are white. They look like cartoons in a movie or book. Next, I am hiding in a squatting position behind a bush of white branches and twigs. In front of me, at a close distance, I can see a big white dog with large, droopy brown ears and brown spots. Close to the big dog, a small white dog is playing. The watchful eyes of the big dog catch me hiding behind the bush. I see the big, brown eyes as the big dog gently looks at me. I crawl from my position to escape from the big dog, but it is faster than me. It runs; it jumps and in no time, it is all over me… in my bed, under my quilt! I physically feel its feather like weight and the softness and warmness of its coat as it immobilizes me. I woke up; it was the end of the dream. The message of Swami in my dream is clear. Similar to a puppy, which playfully tries to delude its mother but is caught by her and brought back safely home, I realized the Omnipresence of Sai Mother in my life. God is with me, above me, around me and behind me… watching and protecting. Many times, unpleasant things happen to us and we wonder why these happen when God is Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent. Actually, the words- Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent- are expressions which we, humans have invented to describe the splendor and power of God. We have to seek for the truth behind these words to realize that Our Loving God is with us all the time and He knows everything about us. We have to practice the teachings of Swami consistently; the flow of practice must be like the viscosity of oil, not like the frivolous flow of water which is inconsistent and breaks in between, here and there. It must be constant and uniform.
