SSSVIP PROGRAMME- FIRST PHASE OF SEED SUPPLY FACILITATING MEETING AND FARMERS 
SEMINAR IN TAMILNADU:


Sathya Sai Seva organizationTamilnadu,under the Sri Sathya Sai village 
Integrated Program (SSSVIP) organized a seminar as part of the first phase of 
seed supply facilitating meeting at Villupuram Tamilnadu on 17th 
March2013.Around 230 farmers from several districts of Tamilnadu participated 
in the program.There was an expert Technical interaction session with several 
subject matter specialists.


The meeting decided on the following three action plans:


ACTION PLAN – For Immediate Implementation


1.     Each  District will identify  5 Villages in cluster , assess seed 
requirement for paddy groundnut, pulses, black gram, green gram and water melon 
and facilitate the supply through National seed corporation of India, 
Agricultural Extension centres ( TN –Govt) Agri Depots, or through private seed 
agencies like Sungro for Watermelon.


2.    Each District will facilitate seed supply either in the village or in 
nearest Agri –Depot ( AEC’s of govt of Tamil Nadu) at Farmers preference date. 
Hence the date of supply to be decided by all farmers of 5 SSSVIP Villages.


3.    The District presidents will work out with villagers for raising seed 
farming either with NSC or with seed certification department of Govt. of Tamil 
Nadu to cater their seed need and for others and also obtain higher profit of 2 
times cost.


It is expected that the  ground work will start  from March,/April 2013 for 
facilitation of supply  from June 2013 .
