India Post will release a commemorative postage stamp in honour of Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi on his birth anniversary this year.
In a press release here on Monday, Union minister of state for communications and information technology Killi Kruparani said Satya Sai Baba was an inspiration to people of all faiths. “As a preacher of the highest human values, Satya Sai was an iconic figure for over five decades inspiring millions to lead a moral and meaningful life. His teachings were rooted in the universal ideals of truth, righteous conduct, peace, love and non-violence.’’ She said Satya Sai endeared himself to the people through various institutions which have their headquarters at Prashanti Nilayam in Andhra Pradesh and promoted moral values, education and public health.
