The main villain for instability of mind is the attachment that we have
to objects,enjoyment,and situations.The culprit is attachment,attraction and
fondness.It is this fondness that is the root cause of birth and death
cycle.How to put aside attachment from this world?.
First,increase the love for the Divinity.Just as one is reciting LORD'S
name,if the mind is engaged in understanding the meaning of the different names
of GOD,then the mind is greatly purified.Passion goes away.When you listen to
the Divine stories with Love,the passionate feelings of attachment is wiped off
and divine love is awakened.When this divine love penetrates the devotee's
heart,then attachment vanishes,desires disappear.
Another way is to do silent mental recitation of the LORD'S name while
keeping a silent count of the number of times you recite the name.Do not count
with hands,beads not recite aloud.Silently practice this in the mind,repeat the
Divine name silently,it means without your mind engaged,you will be unable to
count,if you are able to do this,then undoubtedly your mind will be engaged in
GOD.
Initially the mind may not co-operate,because the mind is not under your
control.If you can do this as a daily practice,you will notice the difference.

HUMBLE,LET THIS VIRTUE BE INGRAINED IN YOUR HEART,IN EVERY CELL,IN EVERY
NERVE,IN EVERY FIBRE OF YOUR BEING.MANY HAD THEIR DOWN FALL BY BECOMING VICTIM
TO THIS POWERFUL INTOXICANT,NAME AND FAME."
