SHREE SPEAKS Of Meeting SATHYA SAI BABA (An excerpt from the upcoming book - Shree Sai Baba of SSF: Devotees Speak) In 1997, my mom (Parvati Lal) took me to India; to Kodaikanal because I had a brain tumor. I had been paralyzed for two mon... ths and was taking chemotherapy at Stanford University. I didn’t really know who Sathya Sai Baba was; my mom was a Sathya Sai devotee; I was into Shirdi Baba. We were there when Sathya Sai Baba gave darshan at His ashram one day and I began to speak to Him inside myself. “If you’re God, you are going to call me for interview and you are going to heal me.” I was called for an interview and all I could do was cry. Suddenly, I didn’t see Sathya Sai Baba in that physical form; I saw Shirdi Baba. Yet... I still had my doubts. So I thought, if He is really God He is going to put His hands on my head and He’s going to talk to me. The moment I said that to myself this man approached me. “Are you from the US?” he asked. “Yes.” “Baba wants to see you.” I went in to see Baba and I was crying and crying and crying and crying. “Why fear when I am here?” Baba said to me. Oh my God, I thought, and I stop crying. “Tumor?” He placed His hand on my head. “No tumor.” After that Baba looked at my hand and commented on the four sections of my fingers. “We are connected,” He proclaimed. I started to cry again and all I could ask for was vibhuti. We returned to the states and I went back to Stanford University. It was a miracle. I had no tumor. Nothing.
