Om Sri Sairam ---- Life changes. So do the Problems in life. Then logically it follows that we cannot have a frozen set of solutions. And keep applying to ever changing problems. Its time to even revisit and redefine "Suffering" which is the generic name of problems. And figure out an appropriate Seva on the fly. For years we have only the following key words under "Seva"- "Food", "Shelter" "Cloths" "Health" etc in general. But 'Suffering' has now moved beyond and presents in many ways. People in domain of charity need to be sensitised and trained to figure out the new areas of Pain that people suffer from.And address them with appropriate solutions. In an adopted village we discovered that their pain can be eradicated with proper paper work to get 'Electricity' that was already sanctioned and remained for gaps in paper work. We set up a team and completed the same. And pursued with the dept and got the connection done. And added "Paperwork" as another key word to 'Seva'. Many villagers could benefit if proper paper work is done meticulously and govt schemes availed. NGOs can help. In a village more than 20 chronic cases requiring hospitalisation were languishing because they could not go to the hospital and complete the formalities on their own as they were illiterate tribals. We set up a Mahila team who did the 'escorting' every day till all the formalities completed and got them admitted for treatment .Except one cancer patient others returned home health restored. We added another key word "escorting" to 'Seva'. And kept looking around for new areas of Pain . And discovered in an Ashram-shala near Karjat, the kids were brutally bitten by mosquitoes due to holes in the net in the windows. A little carpentry could have saved the kids. And in an Old age home ,some fans were not working. And the seniors were sweating it out. Any small time electrician could have fixed it in no time. In a Children home,the hand pump was not working and they suffered a lot by fetching water from a distant one. It was a broken piece which required a plumber to fix it . A residential school wanted a make shift bathroom for girls so that they could get ready fast and go to school in time. Every day some girls were going late and getting punished. All it involved was a carpenter and four panels for the makeshift one. In all the above cases, the inmates were suffering a lot and the visiting NGOs were only giving food and clothes quickly and dispersed. It is not money,stuff or even Time. But attention arising out of Love. If we love intensely, our focus will go for details. Mother spots even a minute boil on the child. She doesn't go by any Mothers Manual. In Love,you encompass everything around as your own extension. Then feel and figure out pain points instantly. Our new discovery in above cases made us add a few more key words to 'Seva' - 'Carpentry','Plumbing and 'Electrical work' We set up a team in all these faculties. To offer free seva to the suffering lot in the Shelters/homes for the Children and the Aged. Surprisingly even as we were shortlisting the skillset a carpenter was moved by the model so much he offered his service free of cost. It was very touching. Love begets Love.....
