Forwarded msg: Sai Ram; Dear Gods and Goddesses spread across the globe!
Ananda Farms: While I was in Puttaparthi on my last trip to visit Prashanthi Nilayam (Sathya Sai Baba's ashram), I was introduced to the work of lady called Joan McIntosh... Joan has been the visionary for 'Ananda Farm' since 1999 to this present day. The idea of Ananda Farm is to have a forest of peace and rest for all that visit. - Reminding us that we can all live together in perfect harmony and joy! If you click on the below link, you shall be able to view the photographs that I took at Ananda Farm: http://vedantaempire.webs.com/anandafarm.htm - My experience of being there was full of peace and all agree that it indeed promotes an appreciation for nature. Below is a sample taken from the official site of Ananda Farm: "Ananda is Ananda. To bring Ananda, to human and animals. To create a precedence, and ultimately become a place of worship.” - Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Ananda means Bliss. This is a place of silence and peace. It is a forest, for rest. A place of high spiritual energy undisturbed by human minds. Here it is possible to experience the oneness of life. To immerse your outer self in the inner Self effortlessly. Nature itself allows this as a natural process. It also shows us how we can live together in perfect harmony and joy. You are welcome to come and enjoy this beautiful tranquil forest, with botanical gardens, parks, nature walks, farm activities, as well as meditation and yoga spaces.Time out for a few hours in this paradise will guarantee a feeling of well-being. If you are in Puttaparthi or are planning to visit in the future, you can visit Ananda Farm. - Below are instructions on how to get there: Ananda is located near Reddikunta Lake, Kammavaripalli, Puttaparthi on the ring road. From the ashram, it is possible to either drive through the local village of Puttaparthi or follow the main road out of town, turning right at the petrol bunk. From either direction you reach a lake and can see the forest clearly. There is a small road which brings you into Ananda. Most auto rickshaw drivers know the way and currently charge R60/- one way, some are negotiable on price. It takes ten minutes by auto rickshaw, 20 minutes to cycle or 40 minutes to walk. Our staff can call an auto when you are ready to return, if desired. No vehicles, motorbikes, or autos are permitted into Ananda unless permission is given. This helps to keep Ananda in its pristine state. There is an obvious place to park once you leave the small road, on the concrete causeway. Follow the road beside Ananda and it will lead you directly into the forest. There are public toilets available, please ask for directions from any staff member.
