A Talk With God You must pray… not to remind God what you wish from Him. You must pray to remind yourself that God knows best and is taking care of you. One forgets one’s own self in mundane worries. Prayer is the conversation between the “I” that worries and the “I” that is at peace in God always… You must call God from the depth of your heart. If you call Him with sincerity you shall feel His peace within you instantly. Do not put a condition in front of God’s will. You are sure to be disappointed then… Just like you awaken your body with a bath you must each day awaken your soul with a pure and loving prayer to God. Look around you this moment. See how much He has given to you. Thank Him for all that you have. Fill yourself with gratitude for Him. That thankfulness for His mercy will carry you throughout the day. Prayer is not a ritual that must be done without thought. In fact all thoughts must be at bay when you bend before Him and say to Him that you love Him and thank Him for His pure unconditional love for you… You must talk to God without any reservation. Be truthful and honest to Him. It is not the flowery prayers He responds to. He speaks back immediately if you have been sincere in your heart. Lessen your desires and you will surely find time to speak to God in peace. Prayer is not an act of fear. It is an act of release. One releases his self from the bondages of thoughts and plunges into the sweet silence of his soul. Prayer is the food of the soul. It is the energy that turns the restless mind silent. Speak of your plans to God. Speak to Him of them and then forget about them. Then in patience await for Him to speak of His will that shall flow toward you… When you pray you must believe with your full heart that He is there… at that moment… listening to you… If you do not believe that God is there then you shall not be aware of the answer that He has sent your way. The strongest moment of your day is the moment you choose to speak to God. And it is that strength that makes you aware of His presence and the miracles that He sends your way.
