Prasanthi’s Glorious Birthday Morning…

Birthdays are for the mortals. For the One Who proclaimed to have no birth and
death, there is no birthday. But, when He chose to descend down in physical
frame, He, with His supreme munifincence conferred upon humanity the heavenly
boon to celebrate His Advent. 23rd November has been the day in the Sri Sathya
Sai Calendar… and over 4 decades the Sai fraternity has been joining together
celebrating The Day of His Supreme Advent!

When the day dawned in the tiny hamlet called Puttaparthi this morning, there
was ‘joy unmatched’, mixed with a tinge of nostalgia…nostalgia of the golden
past of the beautious form gliding into the sea of devotees, with His ever
unmatched nonchalant spirit, gracing the occasion, blessing humanity and the
world beyond. …and silent submission from the capacity audience in the Sai
Kulwant Hall seemed to be echoing a missing tune… as if singing…
…i miss You, my Beloved One…
Oh! How i miss You…
…this yearning for Your Presence…
…will never subside…
…though i know for sure…in my heart…
…You do blissfully reside…

In the morning the proceedings began at 0800 hrs. with Veda chanting. Students
took over singing Birthday glory… glory of Sri Sathya Sai spelling their love
out for their Beloved Swami… Singing a song of His Avataric glory, “Manushini
Madahavunicheya Mahine Swargamukamacha…”, the students followed singing a song
of Unity, “Aao Sab Milkar Gaao…”. A Carnatic song comprising compiled padyams
of Bhagawan followed by a video presentation on the epochal 50th Birthday
celebrations came next before the final song, the eternal song of love, “Hum Ko
Tumsey Pyaar Kithna…”.
Prof Anil Kumar took over next giving a lucid English-Telugu introduction to
the events to follow. Speaking about the greater glory of Bhagawan and His
Birthday celebrations Prof Anil Kumar then invited the Chief Guest for the
function Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Communications and Information
Technology, Dr (Mrs) Killi Kruparani to release the commemorative stamp on
Bhagawan by Dept Of Posts (India Post). The Hon’ble Minister then released the
stamps by handing it over to Justice AP Mishra, Trust Member, Sri Sathya Sai
Central Trust. Annual Report of the activities of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust
as well as the firts day cover of the released postal stamp were also released
by the Minister, handing them over to the Trustees, Sri TKK Bhagavat and Sri V
Srinivasan respectively. Andhra ministers Sri Raghuveera Reddy and Ms J Geeta
Reddy were also present on the occasion.

Sri SS Naganand, Trust Member, SSSCT then summarised the highlights of the
Annual Report of SSSCT. Deliberating on the activities of Sri Sathya Sai
Central Trust in the areas of Medicare, Educare and Sociocare Sri Naganand also
announced the partial commissioning of the ongoing extended water project
scheme.

Chief Guest for the occasion Union Minister Dr Killi Kruparani then addressed
the audience in Telugu. Hailing Bhagawan as an Inexhaustible Reservoir of Love,
Kruparani expressed greater gratitude to Bhagawan for her great good fortune of
being associated with the momentous historic occasion of the release of the
stamp. In her power-packed speech the minister quoted Bhagawan intermittently,
highly appreciating the activities taken up by the Central Trust in the Name of
Bhagawan.

It was time for Bhagawan’s Divine Discourse. Bhagawan’s discourse revolved
around the Supreme Truth of actual experience and the hidden reality…actual
Truth. Spirituality is all about looking inward while science is about looking
outward, said Bhagawan adding that external vision cannot fathom actual reality
called Truth. Speaking about His Truth in no uncertain terms, with greater
emphasis Bhagawan promised the re-establishment of Vedic culture in the near
future. Bhagawan ended His Divine discourse with the bhajan “Madhuvana
Sanchaari…”

Band troupes from Prasanthi Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School,
both boys and girls, Prasanthi Nilayam campus played short-solo-tunes before
boys burst into bhajans. Even as bhajans continued boys and girls made a
beeline to the Sanctum Sanctorum offering Birthday Day Cake to Beloved Swami.
Prasadam was distributed to the entire assemblage and Mangala Arathi was
offered at 1110 hrs. On the special occasion, free food was served to all
devotees in special shamiana behind the North Block of Prasanthi Nilayam.
