Puppet Drama by Anantapur Students Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 Peaking to heights of excellence, blessed by the most mightly Supreme Divine, students of Sri Sathya Sai are in no mood to stop… Continuing with the festive spree, post the Annual Sports and Cultural Meet, taking their turn women students from the Anantapur Campus offered a most innovative presentation, a Puppet Drama entitled “His Messages” this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam. Puppetry is a folk art form and this evening’s presentation had both doll puppets and human puppets in action. Where creation becomes a stage for God’s Puppet Show, with Bhagawan as the Puppetteer, The Director of the drama…His creation becomes a puppet in His hands. Holding aloft this theme, acknowedging this greater wisdom, the Anantapur campus chose the right theme for the show, Swami’s Chinna Katha, airing some of the most profound messages of Bhagawan this evening.
Presenting the story of a King with three vital questions…what is the best time to do any act?… who are the most important persons to work with?… and what is the most important task one must engage in all the time?… the answer came to the King in the forest wherein he got to meet a hermit to work with. Enlightening the king with practical wisdom the hermit opens up the King to greater realms of wisdom, advising him that the best time to work with is NOW… and the best person to work with is one’s Own Self… elaborating further the hermit advises the king, citing King’s own example in the forest, of serving a man in dire need, saving his life, that one needs to be vigilant in attending to the person next to him all the time… thus the most important person is the person next to you…and thus be attentive. Despised by the so called assembly of the learned, King Ashtavakra dares to call it an assembly of cobblers as real scholarship is the knowledge to look within and not to go by the external appearance. The final episode was the story of a little girl’s love for an old man, treating him selflessly, giving him food saving his life. Being grateful, when the old man attempts to reward the little girl and her parents with some monetary assistance, principled parents of the little one refuses to accept anything in return… even as the old man cunningly leaves the house, leaving the offering, a perplexed parents finally accepts money, deciding to help destitute children with the money. A couple of fascinating Puppet Dances as interludes in the presentation turned out to be an added attraction. Colourful costumes, , lucid narration, crystal clear dialogue delivery, aesthetic movements of the Puppets and an elegant makeshift stage combined together made the show a most memorable one, leaving some of the most profund messages of Bhagawan for the august assembly to carry home. At the end, the Puppet Drama team was given a round of applause by the capacity audience in appreaciation of their brilliant show. Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1805 hrs. sourced: http://www.theprasanthireporter.org/2014/01/puppet-drama-by-the-anantapur-girls/ SSSIHL ANNUAL SPORTS AND CULTURAL MEET 2014-Fourth Day (Morning Session) Prasanthinilayam,14th January 2014 On this auspicious Makara Sankranthi, 14th January, Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed a glittering Valedictory Function of Annual Sports & Cultural Festival 2013-14 attended by students from all the four campuses along with that of Higher Seconday and Primary levels, joined by thousands of devotees. The morning proceedings began with a regal procession led by the Brass Band from Prasanthi Nilayam, from the Divine Abode, Yajur Mandiram to the venue in Sai Kulwant Hall. Flag Bearing Squad of the Institute and Vedam Group followed the procession escorting The Divine Chancellor. The venue was bedecked with colourful floral buntings and a special dais with a special Seat For The Divine Chancellor was erected in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum, with winners trophies and cups on either side. Master Of Ceremonies for the occasion Sri Sanjay Sahni, Principal, SSSIHL Brindavan Campus, commenced the proceedings with greeting to the august assembly on the auspicious festive occasion. Delivering an introductory speech speaking about the auspiciousness of the festive day with a reference to the just concluded Sports & Cultural games, Sri Sahni then introduced the five speakers for the session, one faculty member, followed by four speakers representing the four campuses and one from the higher secondary school. Dr (Miss) Kiran Bala Arora, Associate Professor with Dept of Hindi at the Anantapur Campus, was the first speaker. Commencing her speech with the Inaugural-Sports Meet story, way back in 1986, when Anantapur Campus offered an hour-long programme involving bicycle stunts, Dr Kiran further drawn interesting parallels from the Sports & Cultural Games with man’s sojourn on earth. The royal reception to Bhagawan at the Stadium on the Sports day, with gun salute, bike cum band and vedam escort, the decorated special seat of the Divine at the Shanti Vedika, the march-past with diligent steps, the salutation turning towards the right, hoisting the flag coupled with releasing white doves etc. have parallels to our own lives, said the Warden of Anantapur Campus, comparing each of the above steps with the royal hearty welcome within we owe to our Beloved Bhagawan, regulating our steps moving closer and closer to Bhagawan, installing Him at the centre of the heart, giving focal attention to The Lord of the heart, holding aloft Truth and Righteousness as we move along with life spreading Love and Peace respectively. Sports Meet in the external sense should help us to reach the Sports Meet within the recesses of our hearts, said the speaker concluding her interesting and inspiring speech. The four students who shared the podium were Amrit Prasuthas, Sai Abhinav Mudaliar, Padma Lalitha, Vijay Sai and Lakshmikanth Sharma from Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, SSSIHL Muddenahalli Campus, SSSIHL Anantapur Campus, SSSIHL Brindavan Campus and SSSIHL Prasanthi Nilayam Campus respectively. These student speeches bore testimony to their unflinching faith in Bhagawan, ever ready to do anything to make Bhagawan happy. Speaking about the fortune to be able to offer things directly to the Lord incarnated, Lakshmikanth Sharma posed a question to the audience of students as to how many have the opportunity to offer something directly to Bhagawan…leaving all to introspect. Next, Chancellor’s Prizes, Trophies, were given away by the Vice Chancellor to the participating Institutions. Representatives from Sri Sathya Sai Primary School, Smt. Easwaramma English Medium High School, Anantapur Campus, Nursing College – Whitefield, SSS Higher Secondary School, Mirpuri College of Music, Muddenahalli Campus, Brindavan Campus and Prasanthi Nilayam Campus received trophies from the Vice Chancellor.
