Nothing was spared by the cyclone be it trees, houses, roads, huts, buildings, everything was damaged beyond imagination. While lakhs of trees were uprooted, electrical poles were seen lying on the roads, huts floored. On hearing about the extensive damage and devastation caused by Hudhud cyclone to the 3 coastal districts, Sri V.Srinivasan, All India President & Trustee, SSSCT, Sri R.J.Ratnakar, Trustee, SSSCT & Sri G.S.R.C.V.Prasada Rao, Secretary Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, immediately rushed all needy clothes, utensils etc., to thousands of cyclone victims. Since the total communication system has become standstill 3 districts and at this juncture Sri S.Koteswara Rao of Guntur, All India SSSVIP Coordinator has come to the rescue operations and from Guntur contacted all the District Presidents, motivated & monitored to send all the required material to Visakhapatnam. His services are commendable. State Presidents of Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Karnataka expressed their gesture to brothers of AP, to extend their help to the families in distress caused by Super Cyclone. The State of Odisha has sent 1000 blankets. Here comes the Divine Help in the form of His chosen instruments! Relief measure to the core with a Human touch By the Divine Grace of Bhagawan and constant guidance and support from the Central Trust, the relief operations have started immediately in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts from 13th October 2014 itself i.e., the very next day itself! The dedicated and committed Sevadal(both men and women),Youth have rushed to the places of destruction to have a first hand information to assess the extent of damage and also to explore the requirement of seva activities to be carried out. CLEANING To ensure cleanliness, hygiene and to ensure safety, more than 200 sevadal have cleaned the roads in M.V.P & Simhachalam areas in Visakhapatnam and removed debris caused by Hudhud cyclone. The relief operations which commenced on 13th October immediately after the Cyclone continues in a planned and phased manner till 26th October, 2014. This day commemorates the 20th October 1940, when Sathyanarayan, as Baba was then called, stood on the outer doorstep of His home, cast aside his school books that he was carrying and called out: "I am no longer your Sathya. I am Sai." As family and nearby onlookers came rushing to see, they were blinded by a brilliant halo surrounding Baba's head. He continued, "I am going; I don't belong to you; Maya has gone; My bhaktas are calling Me; I have My Work; I can't stay here any longer". When His brother hurried home on hearing all this, Baba only told him, "Give up all your efforts to 'cure' Me. I am Sai; I do not consider Myself related to you". To mark this sacred occasion, Youth of UK chose Refuge UK, a charity that provides specialist support for women and children experiencing domestic violence as their project to serve the planet. Centre devotees were called into action who donated around 300 packs containing range of stationary to Refuge UK for use by children. Inspite of the very time given, Love the invisible Hand of God removed all obstacles and made the undertaking a success. Devotees celebrated the Festival of Light, the Hindu festival of Diwali on the 23rd October. This was a joyous occasion for everyone to bridge the bond of brotherhood with fellow beings and to remind oneself of the significance behind Diwali that Bhagawan used to remind namely, to light the lamp within so as to dispel the darkness! There is excitement in the air with centres engaged this month in the visualising and planning of programmes for the upcoming Akhanda Bhajans (8th / 9th November) and Baba's Birthday Celebrations. Instead of chanting all names, can’t Your Name alone be chanted perpetually?” Swami said, “Definitely. Is it not much more auspicious? In every act of Divine worship, does not japa constitute the core? Do like that. It is very good. But be sure to meditate upon one Name and one Form. If one practises to constantly contemplate on the Form or Name, one will remember Him when the end comes.
