In the year 1955, the residential quarters for devotees were coming up around
Swami’s residence in Prashanti Nilayam. When the construction work was
underway, a 11 year old boy’s leg got trapped under the wheel of a truck. He
fell unconscious crying out ‘Swami’. At that very moment, Swami was standing in
His balcony and looking in that direction. The elder brother of the injured boy
ran to Swami for succour. Swami consoled him saying, “Don’t worry. Nothing has
happened to his leg”. Swami showed the brother His open palms. The boy could
see distinctly the marks of the truck’s heavy tyres on Swami’s palms. Swami
said that He had held out His own palms to shield the little boy’s legs which
were too tender to bear the weight of the truck. He had thus saved the boy’s
legs from being crushed. The boy had a speedy recovery due to Swami’s grace.
